THERAPY FOR OVERACHIEVERS IN HOUSTON, TX AND ONLINE

Therapy for Overachievers

Your Life is a Case Study in Curiosity and Gold-Star-Worthy Checklists, but You Feel Like Something’s Missing.

Do the words perfectionist and people pleaser sum up your life experience in an uncomfortably neat package? If you are a former honors student or someone who has ordered their life around methodically checking all the boxes, you might find yourself regularly coming up against a lack of fulfillment, anxiety, stress, or even panic as you try to meet all the demands and expectations you place on yourself.

Between work, relationships, and your own internal pressures, you never quite feel like you are enough or have done enough.

It’s time to change all that.

Isn’t Being a Perfectionist Just Who I Am?

When your productivity or performance is tied to how you feel about yourself, high functioning anxiety has likely been a feature of your life until now. But just because you’ve learned to adapt and deal with the extreme pressure you put on yourself (and likely have benefitted from it in the past) doesn’t mean that’s how you should continue to move through your life now.

In therapy for overachievers, you can learn how to be kinder with yourself and your ambitions, without losing the drive that’s made you who you are.

Therapy With Me Might Be for You If…

When you’ve structured your entire life around your achievements, growth, and challenges, hitting any kind of pause to reflect and feel might feel scary. Let’s talk about the kinds of goals and growth you can unlock in therapy so we can figure out exactly what you need right now.

You Don’t Have to Untangle the Knots in Your Thoughts Alone

(Buckle up: therapy analogy headed your way.) If life were a sweater, therapy would be the stitching that securely binds together each part. You can often wear a sweater long after the bindings come loose and holes appear, but it will be more fragile than it once was. It’ll still work…as long as you don’t tug too hard. Life, like sweaters, feels a little bit more durable when our fragile places are well protected by the security of surely-bound seams.

When your favorite sweater gets a snag or a seam comes loose, you don’t throw the whole thing out. Life is a little like that, too. You can troubleshoot the knot or the loose stitches of your situation by sitting down and taking a close look at things. It’s even more helpful when you tackle the issue alongside someone else who is looking for solutions instead of lost in the emotions of that tangle.

While I may have pushed the limits on this metaphor, I think it appropriately prepares you for what to expect in session with me. If you’re down with metaphors, I can’t wait to see how many we can weave together (pun very much intended) to discover the difference therapy can make in an otherwise held together life.

You deserve secure seams in your sweater of life. And, I’m a seasoned mental health seamstress with a passion for uniquely beautiful lives (and sweaters, TBH).

The good life is a process, not a state of being.

It is a direction not a destination.”

You Can (but you don’t have to)

Want to set new goals, achieve new things and live the life of “on paper” dreams? Amazing, I’d love to support you.

Did you once want that, but now you’re not so sure? That’s okay too.

The real beauty in therapy is that every path is available to you and none of them are absolute. The only thing that must be certain is your willingness to learn as you go.

There’s no pressure to get it right.

You can’t get life “wrong” unless you stop looking for and listening to the voice inside yourself that helps you figure out what that means to you. If you’re ready to let the world’s expectations of achievement and success fall away, you’re ready to begin unfolding a universe of adventure where you a feel a little more empowered by what could be if you choose it.
